Hitting the night

My liver and I are back – and ready to do it all over, again! Are you ready for some Vegas nightlife after a full day of meetings and non-stop walking? Check out the official CES Party List and look at all the events lined up this year. I’m pumped about them all but a few stick out - BlogHaus at the Bellagio on Monday the 7th and Monster Blog Bash - Paris Hotel, Louis the Empire Suite on the same night and both RSVP only. Sounds like a lot of fun … and a lot of trouble. What are your plans for the night?

Let it snow, let it snow!

More and more of this white stuff keeps falling and my flight keeps getting delayed – I’ve yet to land in Vegas and I’m already going captain insano! The good thing – I finally found a power outlet so don’t have to worry about my laptop, iPhone and MP3 player batteries dropping dead while I continue to wait for this, supposed flight that’s gonna eventually take to the sky. As if the drive over to the airport wasn’t scary enough, damn cab drivers don’t slow down in snow…hey buddy, here’s a tip – SLOW DOWN IN SNOW!! Enough said for now – I’m sure CES will have more interesting stories than my delayed flight in a snowstorm. You guys already enroute or popping in over the weekend?

Pepcom Digital Experience

The Pepcom Digital Experience is a fun and unique media event that coincides with the start of CES, although it’s not affiliated with CES. It’s a great opportunity to meet with lots of fellow colleagues in the span of just a few hours in a setting that is much smaller and more intimate than the massive convention center.

This year, the event will be held on Sunday, January 6th at the Caesar’s Palace Augustus Ballroom from 7 to 10 PM. It’s an invite-only event, so make sure to RSVP asap.

The best part, of course, is the food and MOSTLY the alcohol. The best glass of white wine I ever had in my life was at a Pepcom event in New York. But let’s not even get started on how sad THAT is.

Last year in Vegas they had a mashed potato bar, which apparently was a very chic thing to have at the time. Mashed potatoes served in martini glasses with all sorts of toppings. I had been at a New Year’s Eve wedding at an art gallery in Boulder a week before and THEY had a mashed potato bar at the reception, so it was clearly THE thing of early 2007.

Have you ever attended a Pepcom event? Will you come back again in hopes of getting another shot at the mashed potato bar .. hehe?
